It's time for high school students to express their wishes for higher education! A key moment that started this Thursday January 15 with the launch of the national platform for admission to the first year of higher education courses, Parcoursup. This is called the wish formulation phase.
While this is only the very first phase of this process, there are other key dates to know and note so as not to find yourself caught off guard. We take stock.
Formulation of wishes and finalization of the file
The 2025 edition was launched last month with an information phase. Final year students now have until March 13 to make ten wishes maximum et finalize their file until April 2.
Phase d’admission
The main phase of admission will start on June 2 and the classification of wishes waiting will intervene between June 6 and 10.
Additional phase of wish formulation
A complementary phase of formulating additional wishes with regard to the places still available will then open the June 11before the registration begins on July 4after the publication of the baccalaureate results.
The platform widely criticized, the government wants to take measures
Parcoursup has been widely criticized by waiting students but also by professionals. The government recently announced that it wanted to strengthen the fight against fraud in private higher education.
In order to overcome this problem, members of the government are seriously considering excluding “training in misleading or fraudulent commercial practices”, of the platform.
In November, former Minister of Higher Education Patrick Hetzel said he wanted “do the housework” in higher education courses, particularly aimed at private establishments.
Some 24.000 formations are offered on the platform launched in 2018. Last year, no less than 945,000 applications were submitted on Parcoursup, according to figures given by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research.
