Bruno Fernandes insisted that he ‘believes’ one of his former Manchester United teammates can still ‘fulfil one of their dreams’ in their playing career.
The Manchester United captain was asked about his former teammate in the aftermath of the Red Devils’ stunning FA Cup win over Arsenal on Sunday.
Ruben Amorim’s men kicked off their FA Cup title defence at the Emirates and Bruno Fernandes broke the deadlock for United in the second half against Arsenal.
However, United faced a major setback after Diogo Dalot was sent off and the Gunners pulled level in regular playing time thanks to Arsenal defender Gabriel.
The FA Cup tie went into extra time before United and Arsenal settled their match on penalties, with all five of the Red Devils players converting from the spot-kick.
Arsenal star Kai Havertz was denied from the spot-kick by Altay Bayindir and United sealed a 5-3 win on penalties in the third-round FA Cup tie.

Fernandes asked about former Man Utd superstar
Speaking after the FA Cup result, Bruno Fernandes dropped his verdict on the future of Manchester United legend Cristiano Ronaldo on the international stage.
Portugal reached the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 in Germany before being knocked out by France on penalties, with Cristiano Ronaldo disappointing at the tournament.
Ronaldo failed to score once during last summer’s Euros – managing only one assist in five appearances – but the United legend did not retire after Euro 2024.
The 39-year-old Portuguese is widely tipped to represent his native homeland at the 2026 World Cup, which will be hosted in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Fernandes has admitted that he does not see Portugal captain Ronaldo retiring from the international stage before playing at the next World Cup.
“I not only believe, but I’m almost certain that he’ll be there,” he told TNT Sports.
“It would be great if Cristiano Ronaldo fulfilled his dream of winning the World Cup with the national team, not only for him, but for us Portuguese people.
“We really want to give that to our country. For him, as the ultimate reference in our football, it would be the best way to end.”

Fernandes on if Ronaldo won World Cup
Cristiano Ronaldo will be 41 years old by the time the next World Cup comes around and the international trophy has alluded him in his legendary career.
The Real Madrid and United legend’s only major piece of silverware with Portugal came with his country’s triumph at Euro 2016 in France.
Fernandes admitted that Ronaldo, who also lifted the Nations League trophy, could still carry on with Portugal even if they won the World Cup in 2026.
“Even if he won the World Cup, I don’t know if he would like to stop or go a little further,” Fernandes continued.
“There are always things to improve and learn. You can see that in Cristiano, who wants to do more every year, wants to be better.
“For those who still have doubts, he does more and more. For us, the most important thing is to go to the World Cup and win.
“It’s the dream of all of us, of Cristiano Ronaldo’s fans and of our country.”
