Skipper Macif, leader of the race, is very close to the finish, which he should cross as winner very early in the morning of Tuesday.

He's almost in sight. After 64 days of racing at sea, Charlie Dalin reaches his goal. The skipper of Macif is now off the coast of Brittany, which he will sail along to reach Les Sables-d'Olonne, where his arrival is planned between “5:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.” Tuesday January 14, according to Alain Leboeuf, the president of the Vendée Globe. It was thus able to be flown over, Monday January 13, for the first images and some exchanges on the radio.

Charlie Dalin should cross the finish line as winner, a few nautical miles ahead of Yoann Richomme (Paprec-Arkea), who is expected in Vendée early Tuesday evening. The 40-year-old skipper would thus take his revenge on the last edition, where he had already crossed the finish line first. But he finally saw victory slip away from him in favor of Yannick Bestaven, who had diverted to rescue Kévin Escoffier during the race.
