A small delegation of Vooruit deputies is participating in the union demonstration, this Monday in the streets of Brussels, against the pension projects of the potential Arizona coalition, in the constitution of which the Flemish socialists are nevertheless associated.

According to their MP Oskar Seuntjens, Vooruit understands the protesters and “does everything to make the government agreement fair and just“. He is present alongside his federal colleague Anja Vanrobaeys and Flemish MP Hannelore Goeman.

However, “the coming years will be difficult and everyone knows it“, adds Mr. Seutjens. “We will have to reform our country to restore order at the budgetary level. Vooruit is ‘the’ party of purchasing power, we have already raised the minimum pension and still today, we work hard to protect the purchasing power of the population“, according to him. For the N-VA, the federal trainer and president of the party Bart De Wever said he understood the concerns of the demonstrators, but he considered Monday’s action premature.
