Sporting personalities are no strangers to the spotlight, and their romantic partners too catch up with the program, in one way or another. Frances Tiafoe and his girlfriend Ayan Broomfield are no different in that regard. Having arrived for the Australian swing to expand his resume outside his home country, the American player came across a rough patch, but ultimately shifted his focus for the mega event in Melbourne. Meanwhile, Broomfield has been gaining praise from fellow tennis stars’ partners.
Tiafoe commenced his 2025 calendar campaign at the Brisbane International. Despite his valiant efforts to make a deep run, he couldn’t move past the second round after losing to Giovanni Mpteshi Perricard. However, on the other hand, his girlfriend stayed on schedule to explore the nation and, with it, posted intriguing updates for her fans on social media.
The Canadian player, currently inactive on the tour, moments after arriving in Brisbane lamented how the city’s ‘Target’ store franchise didn’t live up to the US standards. Later, she took her affairs to a local sanctuary where she recorded her maiden experience walking around popular Australian animals like koala bears and kangaroos. With her boyfriend currently taken up with his Australian Open commitments, Broomfield found it best to stay back and furnish fans with her stunning look in Melbourne.

Subsequently, the 27-year-old took to her official Instagram handle and posted a string of photos, showcasing her ‘chic’ look at the Melbourne Park premises. Baffled with the gorgeous snap line-up, Nick Kyrgios‘s girlfriend Costeen Hatzi commented on her post saying, “Stunning”, while American Tommy Paul‘s partner, Paige Lorenze, expressed her amazement at the post and wrote – “Ohhh!!!”
For those unaware, both Kyrgios and Paul are currently in action at AO for their respective opening-round clashes. As for Tiafoe, things took a sharp turn for him during his first-round encounter in Melbourne.

He said, “I was probably too hydrated after mixing in a lot of electrolytes. It’s 11:00. It’s a tough moment. We played for four hours, playing at 11:00 a best of five… I wasn’t too happy about that. We ate at 10:00. I vomited all the electrolytes and water. The issue wasn’t the food. Actually, it wasn’t the heat either. The heat is a bit different here from what everyone’s used to. It’s been funny seeing all the labels I’ve been given (on social media).”
Next up, the American sensation will lock horns with Fabian Marozsan in the second round of the Melbourne Slam on Wednesday, January 15.
