A 27-year-old man died this Sunday morning in Toulouse. He was stabbed several times. A 21-year-old youth is currently in police custody on suspicion of homicide.
It’s three o’clock in the morning this Sunday. A car parks in front of the Ambroise Paré clinic in Toulouse. A 21-year-old makes the passenger get out of this vehicle. Then he calls for help. His voice trembles, betraying intense panic. The firefighters and Smur 31 rushed to the inert and bloody body. The victim is no longer breathing, but caregivers try to revive him. Despite these efforts, the heart does not restart. Amar, aged 27, died on the spot following several stab wounds, including one to the femoral artery.

One of his relatives, who drove the injured man to the hospital, was immediately taken into police custody. “He is suspected of homicide,” specifies the public prosecutor. This 21-year-old individual, defended by Me Jessica Guy, is known to the courts.
The suspect insists he is innocent
The main suspect claims to have searched for Amar for hours before finding him seriously injured in his car. Amar’s friend then pushed him into the passenger seat to drive him to the hospital. Investigators are currently verifying this account. The young man’s release will depend on confirmation of his version by investigators. Otherwise, the situation risks getting complicated for him.
At this stage of the investigation, the police are trying to trace Amar’s last hours. Convicted several times for violence and his participation in drug trafficking, this Perpignan resident, just released from prison, may have been caught up in his past. Investigators are not excluding anything and are exploring several avenues, including possible links with cigarette, drug or medication trafficking. “We have to wait. For the moment, we do not know where the altercation took place. The case has barely started, the circumstances are not clear”, announces the Toulouse prosecutor’s office
The video surveillance images, currently being analyzed, could provide valuable new information. Amar’s loved ones and those who met him on Saturday evening should also be heard.
