“It was like an earthquake, a tsunami”remembers Caroline Darian, the daughter of Dominique and Gisèle Pelicot. In an interview with the BBC this Saturday, January 11, the 46-year-old woman returns to this affair. “I remember that I screamed, cried, I even insulted him”she told the British media.
Her mother, Gisèle Pelicot, revealed to her that she had been drugged and abused by her father for nearly 10 years. A revelation which was a real shock for Caroline Darian. “At that very moment, I lost what was a normal life”she said.

“You lie, you don’t have the courage to tell the truth, even about your ex-wife. You will die a lie”she declared during her father’s trial. Caroline Darian accused him of having abused her and several of her grandchildren without Dominique Pelicot recognizing the facts. “I know he drugged me, probably to sexually abuse me, but I have no proof”she added.
Dominique Pelicot was sentenced to 20 years in prison for aggravated rape of his ex-wife Gisèle Pelicot. The latter announced that he would not appeal his conviction. “I think there are two Dominiques coexisting in him, and he decided to choose the dark side. I don’t know if he’s a monster, but he knew exactly what he was doing. He’s not sick.”added his daughter.
