Do you receive financial assistance from the Family Allowance Fund (CAF) or the Mutualité sociale agricole (MSA) to reduce the amount of your rent? A decree published on December 31, 2024 in the Official Journal revalued on January 1, 2025 the parameters relating to the resources taken into account for the calculation of personal housing assistance. These are the R0 flat rate allowance and the student resources package.
As a reminder, there are three personal housing aids, which cannot be combined, granted by the CAF and the MSA:
The amount of your housing assistance is calculated taking into account several factors:
A flat-rate reduction, called “R0”, is applied to household resources. « Il represents the amount of resources annual below which aid can be received at its maximum level”recalls the Service-public.fr site. Thus, a beneficiary whose annual resources are less than or equal to R0 receives the maximum amount of personal housing assistance to which he is entitled. Conversely, the more one’s income exceeds R0, the more the amount of the allowance decreases.
The fixed amount R0, which depends on the composition of the beneficiary household, is revalued each year on January 1st.
For students, the calculation of personal housing assistance takes into account a resource package, depending on the type of accommodation (ordinary or hostel) and the status of the student (student or not).
