A shocking description of what happened

Taghmaoui said: “We are still under the influence of great shock!” We lived through hell. I tried to salvage what I could, but the whole neighborhood burned down, and so did my house. I was only able to keep some small things like my car and some simple collectibles, but the most important thing is that I escaped with my life.”

Details of the devastating fire

The fire broke out Tuesday morning in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood and spread quickly due to strong winds. According to the preliminary toll, the fire killed 10 people, destroyed about 10,000 buildings, and forced more than 130,000 people to leave their homes.

The impact of the fire on Hollywood

The fire spread to the Hollywood Hills, approaching Hollywood Boulevard and the Chinese Theater. The fire also led to the cessation of filming of many films and series in Hollywood, and the closure of Universal Studios Park. The announcement of nominations for the Academy Awards and the Critics’ Awards ceremony were also postponed.
