Since yesterday, the file of the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor has given rise to a new turning point, after the announcement of the Higher Sports Council, a government body, which contradicted the decisions of La Liga, in fact authorizing the registration provisional of the two men in the Barça squad.
A choice which provokes a lively controversy among the Spanish authorities, and in particular among a certain Javier Tebas, the always virulent president of La Liga, who did not fail to break his silence. In a long message on social networks, Tebas clearly castigates the position of the CSD, scratching in the process Real Madrid, silent since the opening of this sensitive file.
Tebas’ press release
Chapter 1 of this tragicomedy
Many elements are surprising in the recent provisional measure:
-
Speed of the process : An unusual speed which left no room for an audience for LaLiga nor for the RFEF.
-
Contempt for previous decisions : Ignore previous resolutions emanating from both the CSD and the courts.
-
Declaration of incompetence of the Monitoring Commission : This decision reveals a profound misunderstanding of the mechanisms for managing prior visas and quasi-final licenses. Are there no prior agreements in these institutions?
Furthermore, at no time is there any mention of the articles of the RFEF regulations which prevent the granting of licenses to players, which nevertheless constitutes the heart of the problem, well beyond economic control. An intentional oversight?
It is clear that with this provisional measure, the CSD contradicts what is set out in the grounds of the Sports Law, which praises the economic control of LaLiga. This control, acclaimed worldwide, was essential to save many historic clubs from bankruptcy and guarantee a competition with integrity, on and off the field. However, the CSD calls this into question, once again demonstrating a lack of understanding of the consequences of its decisions (which is not a first).
For some time, the CSD – and particularly its president, giving the necessary instructions – seems to want to dismantle the effective systems of LaLiga, although supported by the majority of clubs. The president of the CSD appears to only listen to one voice, which does not represent Spanish professional football. And this voice, curiously, maintains a complicit silence in this matter. Where has Real Madrid TV gone?
