After several announcements at the end of 2024, announced this Wednesday that the contract with the Belgian GP had been extended until 2031 but that it will alternate from 2027.

Little by little, the Formula 1 calendar for the years to come is becoming clearer. Via a press release, F1 announced that this GP would remain on the calendar until 2031… but will alternate from 2027. As a result, the drivers will meet on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in 2025, 2026, 2027, 2029 and 2031, without us knowing at the moment who will have the chance to host a Grand Prix in 2028 and 2030 “The Belgian Grand Prix was present during the first season of the Championship in 1950, and we are about to launch our 75th. birthday, it is a pleasure to be able to announce this extension of the contract “, declared Stefano Domenicali in particular.

“One of the best circuits in the world”

« Spa is loved by all drivers and fans and considered one of the best circuits in the world. It has also been the scene of some of the Championship's greatest moments. In recent years, the circuit has been transformed to make the fan experience even better and for that I thank the promoter and the government of Wallonia,” the latter subsequently added on the official F1 website. For his part, Pierre-Yves Jeholet was logically happy with this news. “I am delighted that the Belgian Grand Prix, an essential event for Wallonia, is confirmed on the F1 calendar for several years,” explained the Vice-President of the Walloon government and Minister of the Economy. (…) The extension of this relationship over several years will also allow the circuit teams to plan for the future, which is extremely positive. »
