The BBC had already complained last month about the huge errors that Apple Intelligence could make on notification summaries. The British media is back with two new examples which show the extent of the talent of Apple's AI, which tells us in the first summary that Luke Littler won the world darts championship (it was then the semi-final, he did not win the tournament until the next day), and in the second that Rafael came out as gay (it was an article on João Lucas Reis da Silva).

Apple this time officially reacted by confirming to the BBC that it was preparing an update which will allow “clarify further” that the summarized notifications were written by Apple Intelligence and not by the authors of the applications concerned. It will be deployed “in the coming weeks”and it will therefore probably be iOS 18.3 which is currently in beta. Apple also reminded that Apple Intelligence features were in beta and that it was continually working to improve them, thus closing the door to deactivation.
