Recently, when the FCN had just closed its year 2024 with another resounding setback against Brest (4-1), many media had in fact brought forward his departure, with too much certainty according to him.

This week, Kombouaré reacted to these extraneous noises, indicating at a press conference that he would refuse to respond to journalists, under the pretext that he had been disrespected. Just yesterday, after the draw won by his players in Lille, the former PSG coach continued on this same path by deserting the press conference (he did, however, answer the broadcaster's questions). What he explained this Sunday, specifying that he was however “notnot angry» against the media.
He wants the press to admit his mistakes
«I'm not angry. I quietly explained what I had to say. I didn't accept certain things. After the defeat against Brest, I had my face every day in the team. We still won in the Coupe de France behind… I can't be hypocritical. They were wrong. It's been a soap opera all weekexpressed the 61-year-old coach with a touch of bitterness. Today, Kombouaré wants journalists to recognize their error. “I don't care if journalists like me. But let them write that they were wrong. (…) I am always cash. The Kitas certainly said it was over for Antoine. But the journalist's job is to speak in the conditional. They must be conditional and take precautions. If the president decided to fire me before changing his mind, that's the problem of the president and the journalist. I wanted a little questioning, a mea culpa. But they (journalists) don't know how to do it. They don't want to understand. We will not find an agreement. I wanted to mark the occasion without creating a buzz, we will move on to something else next week.» Provided that Nantes wins, because a 15th place in Ligue 1 is not likely to immunize it against new rumors of departure.
