It's hard to miss it if you set foot outside this morning, especially in the northern part of the country: it's cold. In these conditions, Météo-France increased its vigilance in the morning. The organization had initially placed 16 departments in the north-east of France on orange snow-ice alert for this “winter episode requiring special attention” which will begin this Saturday evening.
At 10 a.m. this Saturday, there are now 30 departments affected by this “disturbance associated with a lot of mild air”. The result: “snowfall and especially freezing rain for a few hours, until the mild air finally takes over”.
Vigilance on the road
The territories concerned are Aisne, Ardennes, Marne, Haute-Marne, Meurthe-et-Moselle, Meuse, Moselle, Nord, Oise, Pas-de-Calais, Bas-Rhin , Haut-Rhin, Seine-Maritime, Somme, Vosges and the Territoire de Belfort. Orne, Eure-et-Loir, Eure, Côte d'Or, Aube, Haute-Saône and the whole of Île-de-France were therefore added.
-Météo-France calls for “particular vigilance” because “black ice, even in small quantities, can be particularly annoying for road traffic”.
