Initially, drivers and cyclists in Ostholstein seemed to be coping well with the wintry conditions on Friday. But that changed significantly from 10 a.m. onwards. Before that, the snowfall had started again heavily. The Lübeck police department registered eight accidents for Ostholstein by 11:30 a.m. and another five in Lübeck.
The most serious consequences were caused by an accident in Harmsdorf, which occurred shortly after 11 a.m. A car drove into the ditch at the Kremperkate forestry department between Lensahn and Schönwalde, said Lensahn’s fire chief Hartmut Junge. The Lensahn fire department freed the person behind the wheel from the car. She was then taken to hospital with injuries. The car was significantly damaged in the accident.
A cyclist who fell at the Kremper Tor in Neustadt around 10:35 a.m. also sustained minor injuries. She was also taken to a clinic.
In Nüchel a car slipped into the ditch

Two cars crashed into each other on Ahornstrasse in Süsel at 10 a.m. At 10:13 a.m. on Strandallee in Scharbeutz, a car slid into a curb in the area between the Hotel Belvedere and the Ostseetherme and was then no longer drivable. There was also no further journey for a driver who slipped into the ditch in Nüchel at 10:17 a.m. on the outskirts of town towards Kiebitzhörn, as Nüchel’s fire chief Stefan Schmütz reported. Just two minutes later, a car ended up in a ditch on district road 55 between Barkau and Kesdorf. There was no damage here.
Truck got stuck in the roundabout in Grömitz
A truck that got stuck in the roundabout near Rewe in Grömitz around 10:23 a.m. caused a long traffic jam. At 10:37 a.m. there was a collision between two cars on state road 184 near Dunkelsdorf between Ahrensbök and Curau. This went just as smoothly as another accident on the L184 near Stockelsdorf. A car left the road there.
