Author of a very promising start to the season in Cordoba, in Spanish D2, Théo Zidane spoke in an interview for Marca. Aware of bearing the name of a legend, he explains that he wants to have fun and make his own way.
Like his brothers, Théo Zidane has also left Real Madrid. Last summer, Zinédine Zidane's third son signed up with Cordoba, a team promoted to the Spanish second division, until June 2026.
“The best example of success at home”
By leaving Real Madrid, Théo Zidane moved away from his father's favorite club, in order to take off and truly launch his career. In an interview with the newspaper Marca, he explains that he does not feel any pressure in relation to the golden career of his father, Zinédine Zidane: “I do not feel any weight or any responsibility because of my last name. My responsibility is that which I I have set myself as a person and as a professional. My goal is to enjoy football and make my way. Of course, I am lucky to have the best example of success at home. who inspires me and helps me move forward.”
And, judging by his start to the season, the midfielder seems to have made the right choice. With 19 matches played, the Marseille native has so far scored 4 goals and made one assist. He is delighted with his playing time: “Personally, I am satisfied with the minutes I played. I try to take advantage of every moment to give the best of myself and perform well. I feel that I am improving every day and, for this reason, I am very happy.”
Always closely scrutinized in Spain, Théo Zidane is attracting interest and even La Liga clubs thanks to his good start to the season. According to AS, it was Getafe who recently showed interest in the 22-year-old midfielder.
