The drama, which took place this Thursday shortly before 1 p.m., began with an altercation at the tram stop, in the upper part of Saint-Laud station in Angers.
According to the Angers prosecutor, Eric Bouillard, the young man faced a group of around four people. A first exchange of blows took place before the victim, aged 23, ran to take refuge in the station hall where she received several blows again, we are talking about hammer blows, particularly to the head.
Despite the intervention of emergency services, the young man died on the spot. Part of the Angers station had to be closed to the public.
At the end of the afternoon, there had not yet been any arrests, but, according to the Angers public prosecutor's office, the situation was drug trafficking, with several people involved having been identified as being involved in this sphere. The organized and specialized crime division, formerly PJ, was seized of the investigation and is carrying out, among other things, the viewing of video protection images.
The victim's autopsy is scheduled to take place this Friday.
