A man suspected of having fatally knocked down a 15-year-old teenager with his car in Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin) on New Year's Eve night was taken into police custody on Wednesday January 1, 2025. The suspect came to surrender around 10:30 p.m. at the Strasbourg police station, according to a police source, who tells us that the man is 19 years old.
On the night of Tuesday, December 31 to Wednesday, January 1, a fatal traffic accident took place on rue de la Lauch, in the Cité de l'Ill district, around 1 a.m. A 15-year-old teenager, who was returning home after spending New Year's Eve at his grandmother's house, was hit by a vehicle, which fled, leaving the teenager on the ground.
The victim was transported by emergency services to hospital, where he died. CCTV cameras were present in the area.
