After being rejected by the Court of Appeal, Barthelemy Dias and his camp do not intend to give up. According to his lawyer Me El Hadji Amadou Sall, they intend to go to the Supreme Court to file an appeal for abuse of power against the prefect. “The Court’s decision consisted of rejecting Barthelemy Diaz’s appeal request. The judicial vice is thus made. We lost a battle, but we did not lose the war. For the moment, the Court has simply limited itself to reading the provisions without discussions, they came with these reasons rejecting the appeal, we are waiting to see the content of the decision and we will assess with Barthelemy what happens next,” declared Mr. Sall on Sud Fm.
According to the lawyer, “there will be a sequel. I simply announce and inform that Barthelemy Dias’ lawyers have already prepared and probably will file today or January 2 (2) an appeal for abuse of power against the prefect’s decision, because we believe that the prefect’s decision is tainted with illegality. We are in the process of going to the Supreme Court to overturn the prefect’s decision. We do not agree with the decision that was made. It is our right to feel that we are not satisfied because justice has not been done to us, and when justice is not done obviously the litigant has the right to exercise the means of appeal,” supported Barthelemy Dias’s lawyer.
