Zorro: will the series with Jean Dujardin have a season 2? The creator responds – News Series on TV

Will Jean Dujardin once again don the costume of the legendary hero in a sequel to the “Zorro” series? The creator of the fiction Benjamin Charbit responds to AlloCiné…

After a first release on Paramount+, the series Zorro with Jean Dujardin in the role of the legendary masked vigilante has landed on 2. Alas, after only two weeks of broadcast (eight episodes were offered in two evenings), the fiction is already coming to an end on the channel this Monday, December 30, from 9:10 p.m.

Will the Zorro series have a season 2?

Moreover, viewers would no doubt now like to know if the adventures of Don Diego de la Vega and his faithful ally Bernardo (whose interpreter is not actually deaf and mute!) will be developed in a second season… Benjamin Charbit, the creator, spoke to AlloCiné on this subject, who revealed to us that the series will not have a sequel.

He states: “Quite honestly, I don't have any answers. I thought of the series more as a fairly closed object that will inspect the recesses of this mask… I feel like I've said what I had to say about Zorro. I want to be interested in other characters.

An unforgettable adventure

Despite this bad news, Jean Dujardin will undoubtedly keep lasting memories of this project in which he was particularly invested (we know in which sumptuous locations the series was filmed!). At our microphone, Benjamin Charbit, for example, remembered the actor's enthusiasm to perform as many of his stunts as possible:

“Jean did a lot of stunts. He wanted to have fun! He wanted it to be a physical role. He often says: 'I'm an exterior actor.' Already, he rides horses magnificently thanks to Mario Luraschi [un célèbre cascadeur, ndlr].”

“Then, he really worked on how to ride like a Spanish nobleman. The sword, the fight… Jean was very professional and asked: 'How far can I go without getting hurt?' He did, I think, 90% of the stunts.”termine Benjamin Charbit.

Zorro is available on Paramount+ or in replay on france..
