Bart De Pauw will perform again. The fallen television maker is working on his own performance that he will present at at least three locations in April and May 2025, including the Stadsschouwburg in Antwerp, the Trixxo Theater in Hasselt and the Capitole in Ghent. “He is not going to venture into stand-up comedy, but is working on a fun, surprising and creative theater show full of funny observations in the typical Bart De Pauw style,” says a press release.
Tickets were available from 10am on Monday morning. The three shows have not yet sold out, but sales went particularly smoothly, especially in Antwerp and Ghent. That is why additional shows have already been announced in those cities, on April 30 and May 27.
Found guilty
The announcement comes just over seven years after VRT ended its collaboration with Bart De Pauw. The television maker fell from his pedestal after several female colleagues filed complaints about him in connection with inappropriate behavior.
After a trial, De Pauw was found guilty of harassing five women and causing electronic nuisance to one of them. All this time, De Pauw stayed as far out of the spotlight as possible, until in April this year he decided to tell his story in Gert's table.
There was no question of a theater tour yet. De Pauw said he was “kicked out of the herd” and his production company lost its orders. But De Pauw also made it clear that he still likes to be creative.
