Bayern Munich has resumed its march forward. Beaten on the lawn of Mainz (2-1) last weekend, the Bavarian club revived Friday evening by largely dominating one of its competitors for the title, RB Leipzig. Determined to revive under pressure from Bayer Leverkusen, back to four points in the standings, Vincent Kompany's men were carried by a good Michael Olise.
The French international (4 caps) did not score but he provided two assists, one for Jamal Musiala (1-0, 2nd), the other for Konrad Laimer (2-1, 25th). In the trough of the wave at the start of winter after a good start to the year, the Olympic silver medalist in Paris has still posted a good statistics sheet since his signing for Bayern (9 goals, 8 assists in 22 matches in all competitions).
If Leipzig did not exist for long in the meeting, the team owned by the Red Bull group worried Bayern for two minutes. Indeed, a few seconds after Musiala opened the score, Benjamin Sesko put his team back in the match by equalizing (1-1, 2nd). A great start to the match synonymous with a new record: never before had two goals been scored in the first two minutes of a match in the history of the Bundesliga.
Nothing to panic Bayern, put back on track by achievements by Joshua Kimmich (3-1, 36th), Leroy Sané (4-1, 75th) and Alphonso Davies (5-1, 78th). Now seven points ahead of Leverkusen in the standings, the Munich residents will spend the holidays warm and put pressure on their rival, who hosts Friborg (5th) this Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
