Argentine coach Diego Cocca had a bad debut on the Valladolid bench, with whom he lost 3-0 at Girona, this Friday on matchday 18 of the Spanish League.
David López (31st minute), Abel Ruiz (39th) and the Dutchman Arnaut Danjuma (81st) ensured that the three points remained in Catalonia.
Cocca (52 years old), presented this week as the new coach of Valladolid, could not therefore start with good feelings in this stage in Spain.
Valladolid (19th) is in a complicated situation, with just 12 points in 18 games. It is penultimate and is in relegation positions, just one point above bottom club Valencia.
Girona (8th) for its part broke its bad streak. They had not won for almost a month, when they beat Espanyol on November 23.
Since then they had gone six games without winning, which included the elimination against UD Logroñés (4th category) in the Copa del Rey and defeats in the three games prior to this Friday, taking into account all competitions.
On Saturday the 18th matchday continues with four matches, among which the battle between Barcelona (1st) and Atlético de Madrid (2nd) stands out, who are tied at 38 points.
Real Madrid (3rd), one point behind both, will play at home on Sunday against Sevilla (11th).
