Disney content leaves the fold of Canal+ in favor of

The contract between Disney and Canal + ends on December 31 and has not been renewed.

and The Walt Disney Company announced on Friday December 20 a “distribution agreement” for Disney content and channels, and in particular films four months after their release, previously broadcast via Canal+.

Orange welcomed in a press release“enrich(r) the entertainment offering for Orange subscribers”according to a press release from the group. Disney clarified to AFP that this agreement is not exclusive.

If access to the Disney Channel and National Geographic channels is included for all Orange TV customers, you will have to pay more to have access to the films four months after their release, “via the Orange VOD service”. Orange will be the only telecom operator to offer this service.

Most of the programs from two other Disney channels, Disney Junior and National Geographic Wild, will not be distributed by Orange but will remain accessible to subscribers of the Disney+ streaming platform.

Regarding the Disney+ subscription, “Customers of Orange’s Livebox Max offer benefit from a 5 euro discount for life”. Other Orange TV customers will have “a first month free to discover the service”specifies the press release.

Until now, Disney channels, the Disney+ platform and new films were accessible to Canal+ customers, but the contract between the two groups, which ends on December 31, has not been renewed. Disney+, which remains available for direct download on the dedicated site or the various application stores, is counting on its rich catalog to attract new subscribers.
