Dandadan Season 2 Gets a Major Update from Crunchyroll

Easily one of the year’s most acclaimed anime series, Taste has given fans a treat hot on the heels of the conclusion of the first season. Season 2 of the Shonen Jump smash-hit adaptation has now been announced for 2025, alongside a stunning new visual.

Via a press release, Crunchyroll’s popular Taste anime will return for a second season in July 2025. Season 2 will follow the first season’s massive cliffhanger, sparking widespread fan reaction on social media. The upcoming battle between Momo, Okarun, Jiji and Turbo Granny versus Evil Eye was captured in a stunning new visual, featuring tension, unease, classical composers and even a small kaiju. Crunchyroll Announces Season 2 Release Window for Shonen Jump Hit Dandadan

Taste was one of Fall 2024’s most popular anime series, trending worldwide each week on social media platforms and performing well on streaming charts; the series ranked top on Niconico’s popularity streaming charts and second in the widely read Animate Times’ Fall 2024 reader poll. Taste Episode 7, “To a Kinder World,” is one of IMDb’s highest-rated anime episodes ever, scoring a 9.7/10. CBR’s Episode 7 review dubbed it a “surprisingly emotional turn that will make viewers cry.”

Before Taste Season 2’s premiere in July 2025, fans can look ahead to its upcoming collaboration with Uniqlo on graphic t-shirts in February. Fans can also look ahead to Crunchyroll’s Winter 2025 anime schedule, which includes blockbusters like Solo Leveling Season 2, Dr. Stone: Science Future and many more.

Fuga Yamashiro directed Taste Season 1 at the popular animation studio Science Saru. The series is described: “When high schooler Momo, from a family of spirit mediums, first meets her classmate Okarun, an occult geek, they argue—Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. When it turns out both phenomena are real, Momo awakens a hidden power and Okarun gains the power of a curse. Together, they must challenge the paranormal forces threatening their world.”
