Specialists in advanced medical post and rubble rescue: the Hérault firefighters detail, this Tuesday, December 17, the composition of the detachment they are sending to Mayotte to rescue the population victims of Cyclone Chido. Departure scheduled for Wednesday, December 18 from Roissy.

This Tuesday evening, December 17, the Hérault firefighters communicated the details of the detachment that they are sending as reinforcements to Mayotte, after the passage of Cyclone Chido. These resources arrived today in Velaux, in Bouches-du-Rhône, where they joined other firefighters from the south of who are participating in this mission.

Two departures for this Tuesday evening

Two departures have already taken place this Tuesday evening towards Paris: at 7 p.m., a logistics detachment, and at 8 p.m., the rest of the staff. All will take off this Wednesday, December 18, from Roissy airport, bound for the archipelago. “They will join the other French civil security detachments”indicates the Hérault departmental fire and rescue service (Sdis 34).

Doctor, nurse

The resources mobilized consist of twelve specialist firefighters in an advanced medical post, a doctor and a firefighter nurse, and five rubble rescue specialists (Rescue and Research Unit).
