Big B‘s advice on praising your wife’s cooking

He asked Praveen about his wife’s cooking skills and the latter laughed explaining that his reaction is a mix of both good and bad. Praveen said, “Our madam once made carrot halwa, and gave it to us to eat, just look at it. We found it a bit strange that the whole carrot halwa was in a garbage can.” Big B asked, “What did you throw?” Praveen responded, “Where do we dare sir?”
Big B told Praveen that one should always praise their wife’s cooking. He said, “Manyavar will tell you, you are being very good. Whatever your wife cooks, she will say, what is the matter, you are making such a delicious food. And you will keep eating at her but will never tell you that you have not made anything.” .”
Praveen on receiving Big B’s autographed photo
Further in the episode, Pravin told Amitabh Bachchan how he had received an autographed photo of him when he was in class 9. He said, “Tabse isse dil se laga ke rakhte hain.” He also presented the old photo of Mr. Bachchan and asked, “Sir, how long are you?”
Narrating the incident, Praveen shared, “Sir when we were studying in class 9th, an incident happened with us. To watch your films, the economic condition was not so good. We barely got Rs 5-10 for pocket money. So all the children of the colony will give you 2 rupees and watch your film. The movie ‘Hum’ came, we planned with some friends that we would go to school and watch this movie. We thought that when the movie starts, we will enter after 5 minutes so that we can watch it, sir. When the light came on in the interval, the biology teacher was sitting behind me.”
(Sir, when I was in class 9, an incident happened with me. At that time, our economic condition wasn’t very good, and it was difficult to get even 5 or 10 rupees as pocket money. So, all the kids in our colony would collect 2 rupees each to watch your movies. Back then, one of your movies ‘Hum’ had released, and my friends and I made a plan to skip school and watch it. We thought we would enter the theater 5 minutes after the movie started so no one would notice us. Sir, we did enter quietly, but during the interval, when the lights came on, I realised my biology teacher was sitting right next to me).”
He further said, “Now sir, he is also your fan and we are also your fans, so we will compromise again. Then at home we told everyone about your story and made everyone laugh. We have written a letter to you since then. Sir, we are I am so appreciative of you, if possible please send a photograph of yours. From here came this letter, which even today we keep close to our hearts…”
(Sir, back then, they were your fans, and so were we, so we ended up reaching a compromise. Later, I went home and shared the incident with everyone, and they couldn’t stop laughing. After that, I wrote a heartfelt letter to you, saying, ‘Sir, I am such a big admirer of yours, and if possible, kindly send me an autographed photograph. Sir, I still remember receiving that letter from you with the photograph, and to this day, I have treasured it close to my heart).
