The Danish government has refused to extradite the whale defender to Japan. He had been imprisoned in Greenland since July 21.

His association Sea Shepherd announces on his X account: “Paul is free!!!”. This Tuesday, December 17, the Danish government refused the request for extraction from whale defender Paul Watson to Japan. Paul Watson has been detained in Greenland by Danish authorities since July 21.

“He is free, the Ministry of Justice has just informed us that it has rejected the extradition request,” his lawyer Julie Stage told AFP, specifying that Paul Watson would be able to leave Nuuk prison in Greenland where he had been in pre-trial detention for almost five months.
