Announced some time ago, the series Harry Potter is in preparation at HBO. And while fans are already amazed at this idea, the production has announced news which delights them even more: the return of an intriguing and cult character from the books of JK Rowling's universe, who was absent from the cinematic saga! For several months now, a series Harry Potter is in development at HBO. This new production, which should arrive on Max in 2027, tends to highlight the events of JK Rowling's books, while adding its own elements which will reshuffle the original universe of the films. The production has just announced that a character, little known to the general public, but of primordial importance in the books, will have his place in the program.
The ghost Peeves will be present in the series Harry Potter
This character is none other than Peeves, the poltergeist that haunts the walls of Hogwarts and has enjoyed torturing apprentice sorcerers with his pranks since the year 993! Although this poltergeist never appears in the films, it does play a central role in the books and in some video games, including Hogwarts Legacyreleased in 2023. Beyond his personality focused on jokes of all kinds, the character is also involved in more noble and useful tasks, in particular by helping students to oppose the formidable Dolores Umbridgeor by helping them to fight Voldemortwhen Hogwarts is occupied by Death Eaters.
Although he is an interesting character, if his manifestations in the books are anything to go by Harry Potterit seems that Peeves will not play a significant role in the series, unless the script is reworked and the production wishes to give him a more central place.
However, we will still have to wait to discover which actor will lend his features to the famous poltergeist, the production having not provided any other information on this subject.
