“The continuity of a phenomenon of brawls between young people”
Contacted by BFMTV, the school refused any comment, referring it to the rectorate. The Paris Fire Brigade intervened and dispatched five engines to the site, including three rescue and victim assistance vehicles.
According to the prosecution, “this murder is part of the continuity of a phenomenon of recurring brawls between young people in the 13th arrondissement sector, where eight clashes have been noted since May 2024”.
“This phenomenon is the subject of close attention by specific GLTDs (local delinquency treatment groups)” which brings together several police, judicial and educational actors, so that “the warning signs are detected as early as possible, communicated to others actors, and trigger preventive patrols as close as possible to areas of concern.
The deputy for part of the 13th arrondissement Rodrigo Arenas (La France insoumise) deplored a “terrible tragedy” and sent his “thoughts to the family and loved ones of the victim”.
