In a recent interview, ‘Shaktimaan’ actor Mukesh Khanna slammed Shatrughan Sinha for not teaching his children about Rayamana. He said this as he recalled how in a recent episode of ‘Who will become a Crorepati?‘, Sonakshi failed to answer a question on ‘Ramayana’. As Mukesh’s comments went viral, the ‘Heeramandi’ actress reacted to it on social media.
Sonakshi Sinha Fires Back At Mukesh Khanna Over ‘Father’s Fault’ Remark
Now after Sonakshi, Shatrughan Sinha has also reacted to Khanna’s comments. He told Bollywood Hungama, “I believe someone has problem with Sonakshi not answering a question on the Ramayan. Firstly what qualifies this person to be an expert on all things to do with the Ramayan? And who has appointed him the guardian of the Hindu religion?”
He further added, “I am very proud of all my three children. Sonakshi became a star on her own. I never had to launch her career. She is a daughter any father would be proud to have. Not answering a question on the Ramayan doesn’t disqualify Sonakshi from being a good Hindu. She doesn’t need a certificate of approval from anyone.”
Khanna had said that it was really sad that Sonakshi didn’t know the answer to the question that ‘Hanuman ji got Sanjeevni booti for whom?’ despite the fact that her father’s name is Shatrughan, her house is called ‘Ramayana’ and her brothers’ names are Luv-Kussh. He further added that it’s not Sonakshi’s fault, it’s actually her father’s fault for not teaching all this to the children.
Sonakshi had taken to her Instagram stories and said, “I recently read a statement you made saying that it’s my father’s fault I did not answer a question about the Ramayana correctly on a show I attended many, many years back. Firstly let me remind you there were two women on the hot seat that day who did not know the answer to the same question, but you choose to keep taking my name, and only my name, for reasons which are quite obvious.”
She further added, “Yes I may have blanked out that day, a human tendency, and forgotten who the sanjeevani booti was brought for, but clearly you have also forgotten some of the lessons of forgive and forget taught by lord Ram himself.. If lord Ram can forgive Manthara, if he can forgive Kaikeyi..if he can even forgive Ravan after the great battle was done, surely you can let go of this extremely small thing in comparison.. not that I need your forgiveness.”
