In a historic decision that underlines the intersection between sport and regional development, the Confederation of African (CAF) has announced that Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi will be honored with the illustrious Excellence Award 2024. This award is a testimony to President Sisi’s pivotal role in promoting football in Egypt and across the African continent.

Under the leadership of President Patrice Motsepe, CAF has recognized the importance of the comprehensive football infrastructure that has been developed in Egypt under al-Sisi. This investment has been vital in cultivating talent and hosting international competitions that highlight African football on the world stage.

Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi is expected to accept the honorary award on behalf of President Sisi at the highly anticipated CAF Awards 2024 event. The ceremony, which will take place in Morocco, will be broadcast live to more from 100 countries, highlighting the global importance of African football’s achievements.
