14-year-old hit and seriously injured on pedestrian crossing

There was a traffic accident on the country road in Gibenstorf in which a 14-year-old e-scooter driver was hit by a car and seriously injured.

A 14-year-old girl was riding an e-scooter in Gabenstorf on Monday evening. Shortly before 4:30 p.m. she wanted to cross a pedestrian crossing – this resulted in a collision with a car.

An accident occurred at the pedestrian crossing in Gibstorf.

The girl was seriously injured and had to be flown to the hospital by helicopter, as Corina Winkler, media spokeswoman for the cantonal police, confirmed. The 93-year-old driver apparently remained uninjured, but was taken to hospital for medical examinations as a precaution.

According to initial findings, both the car driver and the e-scooter driver were heading towards Baden. Exactly how the accident on the pedestrian crossing occurred is currently unclear and is being investigated by the cantonal police. (phh)
