Manchester City 1-0 Manchester United: Guardiola says he’s not good enough

Even writing this headline seems mad.

Pep Guardiola was full of emotion as he sat down in front of journalists for his post-match press conference at the Etihad Stadium last night.

He was as stunned as Manchester City’s fans at the way the latest derby turned out. His team has now won one and lost eight of their last 11 games.

“I don’t have a defence,” he said. “I’m the manager, I have to find a solution and I don’t find a
solution.

“This a big club and at a big club when you lose eight, something
wrong has happened.

“I can say the schedule is tough, the injured
players, but, 3-0 against Feyenoord after 75 minutes and we draw. Is
that the schedule, the injuries? No. We have to win that game.

“Today we have to win because apart from Bruno
Fernandes (late chance) nothing happened. So we give it away again.

“What do we have to do? Keep working. But I’m the boss, the
manager and I’m not good enough. It’s as simple as that.

“I have to find a way
to talk to them, train them, the way they have to play, the way they have to
press and build up and I’m not good enough. I’m not doing well. That’s the
truth.”
