“There can be no question of participating in a grand coalition government or negotiating any non-censorship agreement,” launched this Sunday, December 15, the president of the LFI group at the National Assembly Mathilde Panot.
The president of the LFI group in the Assembly, Mathilde Panot, will not participate in the consultations in Matignon launched by the new Prime Minister François Bayrou this Monday, December 16, she announced in a press release on Sunday.
“Contacted by Matignon”, Mathilde Panot says she does not refuse “on principle” to meet the head of government.
Consultations this week
“But since the Prime Minister has not yet formed his government and has not yet appeared before the National Assembly, we will not participate in such discussions,” she said.
“There can be no question of participating in a grand coalition government or negotiating any non-censorship agreement,” she adds, distinguishing herself from other left-wing parties, open to discussions with François Bayrou.
Before being able to form a new government, the Prime Minister will receive from this Monday the parliamentary groups and party leaders “in their numerical order of importance” in the National Assembly.
Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella will be the first received at Matignon on Monday at 9:00 a.m.
Mathilde Panot underlines the wish of La France insoumise to censor François Bayrou “from the moment (he) refuses to submit to the vote of confidence before Parliament”.
