Sabah Aib was on the verge of succeeding Ève Gilles by becoming Miss France 2025 after being elected Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais. The 18-year-old young woman was finally beaten by Miss Martinique Angélique Angarni-Filoponon the evening of Saturday December 14, and is thus her first runner-up.
Second year family law studentshe described herself, in the columns of The Voice of the Northafter her election to Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais, as “someone very empathetic, who hates injustice”.
His speeches during the Futuroscope ceremony certainly touched the French sinceshe came first in the public vote when deciding between the five finalists. Sabah Aib was already the most followed candidate on social networks, while her name was trending again on Saturday evening.
Victim of racist harassment
On the internet, however, the young woman had experienced much more painful moments. After being crowned Miss Nord-Pas-de-Calais, she suffered a wave of harassment because of his North African origins. “France is a multicultural country and having a name that comes from elsewhere does not change the fact that I am French,” she explained in a message on her Instagram account.
“My parents and my grandparents were born in France. I have never had the slightest racist remark in my life, until this election. I didn't expect that. I wasn't prepared for it. I took a step back, but words have an impact”, she criticized the Parisian during a trip to Ivory Coast during preparation for Miss France.
