Hansi Flick has called up 23 players for the match of Matchday 17 in LaLiga between FC Barcelona and CD Leganés.

FC Barcelona has already gathered for their Sunday night fixture against Leganés following the traditional activation training session. Hansi Flick has provided a list of 23 players to face Leganés, aiming to extend their lead in the league after Real Madrid’s draw in Vallecas.

Flick has almost his entire squad available, except for long-term injured players: Christensen, who will return in January, Ter Stegen, and Marc Bernal. Ansu Fati is also ruled out, having completed training with the group yesterday but still awaiting medical clearance.

This approach allows the German coach to rotate his squad, as several players are heavily loaded with matches towards the end of the year. It is worth noting that Barça will face Atlético Madrid on Saturday, December 21, in Montjuïc, a crucial match to solidify their lead at the top.

A player who is certain to see minutes for the first time this season is Ronald Araujo. Flick confirmed that he will play after recovering from a severe muscle injury, although he did not disclose whether he would start or come on in the second half.

Thus, Hansi Flick has named Iñaki Peña, Szczęsny, and Astralaga as goalkeepers; defenders Koundé, Héctor Fort, Cubarsí, Araujo, Iñigo Martínez, Balde, Eric Garcia, and Gerard Martín; midfielders Casadó, Pedri, De Jong, Dani Olmo, Gavi, Fermín, and Pablo Torre; and forwards Ferran Torres, Lamine Yamal, Lewandowski, Víctor, and Raphinha.

The players need to secure a win against Leganés to reclaim three points in the league following their recent draw at Benito Villamarín against Betis. They also aim to shake off the bitter taste left from their previous home match against Las Palmas, where they suffered their first home defeat of the season.
