Belvès did the right thing: his victory against the Auvergnats of Riom, Sunday December 15, gave him a little head start on the relegation zone. In the action that follows, the Sangliers pack progresses in the axis, Nicolas Bardet scores the first try (7-0, 8th). Far from taking a massive blow, the Auvergnats are playing their part. After several restarts in the scoring zone, captain Jonathan Rouchon takes advantage of the gap to set the record straight (7-7, 15th).
Faced with a team barely better placed, the Riomois continue to play. Two stolen touches and two scratched balls, the Puy-de-Dôme players came with intentions. But it is Belvès who will find the key at the end of the line, with an ultra-fast attack, two arm passes and Jean-Yves Zebango who frees his team with a masterful dive (14-7, 30th).
Belvès finishes strong
To give a better taste to the citrus fruits, it was the sure-footed Sangliers Jules Baille who scored a penalty during stoppage time in the first period (17-7, 40th).
The Auvergnats will continue to push, with a Dessales-Giron-Mazet axis which excels in touch, but fails in terms of transmission. Don't panic on the Belvédois side.
Fa launches the offensive, Arvouet then Dos Santos provides support and it is Bardet who enters the opposing goal in force for a double (24-7, 50th). The Riomois suffered for a quarter of an hour, starting again but, at each attempt, it was the defense of the residents of Sem-Gallet which had the last word.
By working on it, they end up causing the breach. On a pass of more than 30 meters, William Boni recovers, a relay from Maxime Glock and it is Yakim Boni who will score the try of hope. Especially since Labussière adds the two points of the transformation (24-14 70th).
The scorer will convert a penalty which brings his team into the defensive bonus point. But Belvès finished very strongly, occupied the opposing camp and, from 40 meters, Baille ruined the Auvergne hopes.
