Former USC starting quarterback Miller Moss has committed to Louisville, a source briefed on the recruitment confirmed Saturday afternoon.
Moss, who is No. 8 in The Athletic’s transfer quarterback rankings, spent the past four years at USC. His first career start came against Louisville in the Holiday Bowl last season. He threw six touchdown passes in the Trojans’ 42-28 victory and was named the game’s offensive MVP. That performance obviously left quite an impression on Cardinals coach Jeff Brohm.
Brohm has been at Louisville for two years and has started a transfer at quarterback each season — Jack Plummer in 2023 and Tyler Shough in 2024. Moss, who has one year of eligibility, is in line to be the next import to start for the Cardinals.
Moss passed for 2,555 yards, 18 touchdowns and nine interceptions in 2024. He played well for the most part but committed crucial turnovers in untimely spots in five of the Trojans’ six losses.
Moss started the first nine games, but coach Lincoln Riley made a switch to UNLV transfer Jayden Maiava after USC fell to 4-5 with a 26-21 loss at Washington. The writing was on the wall at that point that Moss’ time with the Trojans would soon come to a close. He spent the prior two seasons patiently waiting behind Caleb Williams, the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner and No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Moss also considered Missouri, but Louisville and Brohm’s quarterback-friendly offense won out for the Southern California native.
