Lara Croft is on a mission. Throughout Season 1 of Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, we watched as the beloved archaeologist and explorer comes to terms with her past, all while saving the world from the powers of a dangerous artifact. The animated series’ upcoming second season will follow Lara on her next adventure as she discovers a trail of precious stolen African Orisha masks and joins forces with her best friend, Sam, to retrieve them. Season 2 will take Lara around the world as she delves deeper into the hidden secrets of Orisha history, dodges the machinations of a dangerous and enigmatic billionaire who wants the masks for herself, and discovers that these relics contain dark secrets and a power that defies logic.
Season 1 followed Lara as she figured out what kind of adventurer she wanted to be, and we saw how important the team that stood behind her was in creating the icon we know today. Lara Croft is a fearless and intelligent explorer who’s adventuring her way through life — one tomb at a time. While Season 1 is more of an origin story for the rookie, who occasionally finds herself feeling insecure about her identity, Season 2 will show Lara coming into her own as the icon we all know. “As we get into Season 2, we’re trying to build Lara’s team over the course of the show, so she goes from isolated hero, who only wants to do things on her own — a lone wolf — to realizing, ‘Actually, I have this really cool team behind me,’ ” showrunner Tasha Huo told Tudum earlier this year.

About the Character
Conrad Roth is a world traveler who joined forces with renowned archaeologist Richard Croft, Lara’s father, on countless treasure hunts. After Richard’s death, Conrad stepped in to be a father figure to Lara — even at the expense of his relationship with his own daughter — and took her under his wing as a fellow adventurer. He reminds Lara to trust herself and her instincts if she hopes to make her way on her own.

Camilla is Conrad Roth’s daughter, Lara’s childhood best friend, and has fabulous hair. As they’ve grown older, the young women have also grown apart, partly because Lara believes she came between Camilla and her father, who always favored Lara’s adventurous spirit. So when Lara breaks into Camilla’s apartment in Season 1, it’s a toss-up whether they’ll kill each other or repair their sisterly bond.
