The victims' vehicle, a black Audi A3, deviated from its trajectory while traveling in the direction of Vesoul, reports The Republican East. The car then collided head-on with a heavy goods vehicle approaching from the opposite direction. The truck ended its journey on the shoulder.
Two men and a woman died instantly. As for the infant, a little girl aged four months, she could not be saved by emergency services. The frontal impact was so violent that it took more than an hour to extract the victims, explains France 3 Burgundy Franche-Comté.
Four injured
Another accident occurred just behind, involving two other vehicles and causing four minor injuries. They were transported to Vesoul hospital. The truck driver and the other injured victims were treated by a medical-psychological emergency unit.
Until now, the precise circumstances of the accident remain undetermined. Overrun, discomfort or mechanical problem… The scientific police have carried out numerous measurements to try to understand what happened.
