In difficulty, UBB ended up winning with the offensive bonus in Ulster (19-40). The Girondins have taken sole, provisional lead in Group 1 of the Champions Cup.
Received 10/10. After two days of the Champions Cup, the UBB had plenty of points, two enhanced victories giving the vice-champion of France ten points and the head of group 1 before the other matches. However, this Saturday at Kingspan Stadium, the Girondin triumph was slow to take shape (19-40). Because after Tevita Tatafu's first try (0-7, 3rd), Ulster responded through Cormac Izuchukwu (7-7, 6th). An achievement inspiring its partners Nick Timoney (20th) and Werner Kok (40th + 2) who gave the Northern Irish the advantage at the break (19-14).
In difficulty, Yannick Bru's men then made the difference from the hour mark. In ten minutes, they turned the game around thanks to their three tries. Damian Penaud on his wing pushed UBB back into the lead (19-21, 61st). The Bordeaux thoroughbred made the difference again eight minutes later to make his 2nd row Guido Petti shine (19-28, 69th). Two minutes later, still as fast, Louis Bielle-Biarrey got ahead of everyone on the left wing to definitively knock out the Ulstermen (19-35, 71st). Ugo Boniface's last banderilla increased the score (19-40, 78th).
UBB shows the way forward at Stade Toulousain
UBB's first European break this season ends with a solid success and an excellent second period without conceding a single point. This perfect record for the Garnets, however, remains within reach of the Durban Sharks as well, traveling to the Leicester Tigers in Group 1. Stade Toulousain can also claim a flawless performance crowned with two bonuseson condition of winning with four tries this Sunday against the English in Exeter.
