The Ottana masks land at the Unipol Domus where tomorrow, on the occasion of the match between Cagliari and Atalanta, the Boes and Merdules of the Association of the same name will perform together with “Sa Filonzana”.
For the event promoted by Cagliari Calcio in collaboration with the regional tourism department, a special competition will start, with fans who will be able to attend the show dedicated to the Octanese Carnival, recently included in the Register of Historical Carnivals of the Ministry of Culture.
A further step for the “Boes e Merdules” Association, which has been committed for decades to enhancing traditionsuniting multiple generations between national and international trips. During the event, the values of hospitality and fair play triumphed, with the delivery of two masks made by the craftsman Giampaolo Marras to the teams.
For the initiative which increases the role of Cagliari Calcio as ambassador of the island’s culture, the satisfaction of the protagonists who see a long-held dream come true: «It’s an honor for us», comments the association’s vice-president Fabrizio Puggioni. «Some time ago we proposed to the club that we could perform at the stadium and we are very happy to have been contacted in recent days. There will be 22 of us, adults and very young people, ready to heat up the pre-race atmosphere. A unique showcase for our country and its masks, in the rossoblù house. We thank Cagliari Calcio for this opportunity.”
