The title battle in the Challenger Pro League seems to be gradually turning into a duel. La Louvière had to give up its co-leadership position this week (virtually) due to the bankruptcy of Deinze. They lose three points, competitor Zulte Waregem only one point.
To jump over Zulte Waregem again, it had to win against Seraing, which beat the ailing Deinze last week.
Seraing turned out to be a tough opponent. La Louvière created chances, but goalkeeper Margueron stopped many. The visitors scored in minute 25.
Norlan Gillot scored the first and only goal of the evening with a well-aimed low shot towards the corner. It is already the 4th victory in a row for La Louvière.
After the loss of Deinze, it will now have a 1 point lead over Zulte Waregem in the rankings. Essevee plays against Eupen tomorrow.
