PSV did poor business in the Champions League due to the 1-0 defeat at Stade Brest.
With a victory in France, coach Peter Bosz’s team would have almost been assured of a ticket for the intermediate round of the Champions League. Due to the loss, PSV still has to work hard during the two remaining matches.
PSV has dropped to 21st place in the rankings. Clubs in positions 9 to 24 will participate in the aforementioned intermediate round in the new calendar year.
PSV will have to work hard in the last two rounds to secure participation in the intermediate round. Bosz’s team collected eight points in the first six games. Only the matches with Red Star Belgrade (away) and Liverpool (home) remain.
According to the data models, ten points would be enough for PSV to secure the intermediate round. Then the people from Brabant would have to earn two more points in the last two matches.
