There was the Renault 5 Turbo, the Renault 5 Turbo 2, and there will therefore indeed be a Renault 5 Turbo 3E. Not a “one off”, but a real unreasonable sports car, produced in series. It’s Renault’s Big Boss, Luca de Meo, who confirms this in person in the docuseries Anatomy of a comeback. Broadcast on Prime Video since December 13, this mini-saga traces the way in which Renault and its managers have raised the bar, from the serious crisis that the brand experienced in 2019 to the great form found today.
Renault, Dacia, F1, the questions, the arrival of de Meo, the behind the scenes of the creation of new models, nothing is left aside. We therefore know the end: the imminent arrival of this car.

Supercar Perfs
The Renault 5 Turbo 3E will therefore be based on the current 5, which means, no offense to the grumpy people, that it will be electric. But what electric! One motor per rear wheel, for a total of some 500 hp, and a 0-100 achieved in 3 seconds, at the level of very serious supercars. The look will probably be very close to that of the concept you see here, with these body-built wings, particularly at the rear, reminiscent of the original R5 Turbo.
What to expect in terms of behavior? We put the pieces of the puzzle together. On the one hand, the press release mentions a carbon superstructure, a guarantee of lightness. On the other hand, we recently tried the Alpine A290, and we assure you that no other current compact offers a sense of play as close to that of the GTIs of the 1980s.
