Due to a rain event on frozen ground, Météo France places the Jura department in yellow warning “snow-ice” from Friday December 13, 2024 at 8 p.m. and until Saturday December 14, 2024 at 3 a.m.
At the start of the night from Friday to Saturday, a low activity disturbance rises from the south and approaches the Jura department.
The first precipitation falls in the form of light rain on soils which may be frozen in places with temperatures of -1 to 0°C risking making the roads locally slippery.
Snow on the plateaus and Haut Jura
In the second part of the night, precipitation progresses towards the east, accompanied by a slight warm spell, putting an end to the risk of rain on frozen ground.
The rain-snow limit is initially established at 700 m on the Jura massif, generating light snowfall on the plateaus and the Haut Jura.
