This Friday, December 13, FIFA unveiled its new ranking of women's selections. The French team is no longer even in the top 10.
This FIFA ranking of women's teams, dominated largely by the United States in the lead ahead of Spain and Germany who complete the podium, is very disappointing as far as the French team is concerned. The Blues have lost further places, and are currently in 11th position for what will be the last FIFA ranking of the calendar year.
Since the end of the Olympic Games, Eugénie Le Sommer's partners have been very irregular. Two victories and two defeats in the last two friendly gatherings.
The French women's team will return to competition next February with the group stage of the Nations League. As a reminder, Les Bleues fell into a group made up of Novège, Isande and Switzerland.
