“Forever begins now,” Gomez wrote on Instagram, sharing photos of a stunning marquise diamond. Of course, her mani of the moment (which had now transformed into her engagement mani) was on full display in all of the happy photos: short, subtly polished nails. For the star, whose nail choices never fail to start a new trend (hello, butter nails), the sheer pink represented a notably neutral choice.
At a time when engagement manicures can cause some distress, Gomez’s breezy approach feels refreshing. Earlier in the day, the singer, actor, and entrepreneur attended the Academy Museum’s Women’s Luncheon (sans engagement ring, of course). Gomez’s longtime nail artist, Tom Bachik, revealed that the delicate tone on her nails was actually Chanel’s Le Vernis Longwear Nail Colour in shade 111—aptly named Ballerina.
