Miron Muslic was fired from Cercle Brugge last week. The Austrian helped ensure that Cercle was allowed to enter Europe, but a few months later his adventure in Belgium ended.
However, many fans supported the coach. The official statement that the Association issued stated that his dismissal was due to the negative results. Technical director Rembert Vromant now provided some more explanation.
“Every coach places his emphasis and makes his decisions and Miron’s almost always turned out well last season. Now the results are not good and anything but stable. The accents that Miron placed no longer led to the right results,” he said. The Newspaper.
“And that is not just my opinion, but that of the entire management. As technical director, I am also there for the long term and that could no longer be guaranteed with these results,” Vromant continues.
“This has been coming for some time, because we missed the start by immediately losing our first two matches – away at Westerlo and at home against Kortrijk. We have always been able to communicate honestly and openly about this with Miron. After For a while it became apparent that we had come to the end of a cycle. That sometimes applies to players, but also to trainers.”
Muslic has given Cercle Brugge and its fans very nice memories. “The most difficult moment was to say goodbye to someone who has made so many sacrifices for Cercle and has meant and achieved a lot. That was quite difficult.”
According to Vromant, Muslic even admitted that he could no longer turn the situation around. “It is important, however, that both Miron and we are grateful for what we have achieved together. This farewell was also a relief for him. Miron gave everything for Cercle and also had to admit that he could no longer right the ship.”
